Move Over News Programs, Here Comes The Noose!

First off, hi guys! Jaiden here!

I noticed that some of the cast members from The Noose visited TP at TPRawks. Awesome!

However, that's not the last we'll see of The Noose with TP.

Look at this:

(Yes, my Twitter's in Japanese.)

According to two Temasek Polytechnic's most updated & reliable news sources (Other than Gossip J here of course. Hah!) some of our MNS students are working on an iPhone app that features everyone's favourite program, The Noose! I'm pretty sure most of us have heard about this amazingly funny, satirical, caustic & incredibly awesome laugh-inducing program! Here's a clip to prove this!

Of course, this is basically a caricature of how Singaporean culture is like, providing an interesting exaggerated view of how Singaporean culture is like, ultimately providing both entertainment & education (Read between the lines please, & don't take things too seriously.). Nice amalgamation, I feel.

I'll update more on this interesting topic when I get some noose, I mean news from TP's Open House! Stay posted on this space for more information about this exciting project!

XOXO, y'know y'love me,

Director's Cup!

Hey all!

As y'all might've known, in the previous months, TP held its annual Director's Cup! It has come to my attention that MNS had actually sent in a team to compete in the basketball component & our team actually came in second place! Congratulations & well done!

Here are some pictures of the event:

Our MNS Strongman Team! =D

Is that Joseph we see?
Run Wai Kit Run! (Nope, not SNSD's new song.)
Looks like Andy's on the offensive!
Wai Kit shoots!

Here's our Strongman Team with the Director!
Tired, but satisfied.

Its nice to know that even in an IT course, there are people who genuinely enjoy & excel at sports, creating a nice balance in our lives.

The Director's Cup creates an opportunity for us to showcase our skills & battle it out in a tournament that allows everyone to win. Winning or losing is not important, what's important is that you learn something from your experience, improve yourselves & more importantly, enjoy yourselves!

Alright, that's all from me today.

TPRawks!

HELLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PEOPLE!

Today was the first day of TPRawks, & what could I say about it...

IT ROCKED! Everyone practically tore the house down with your enthusiasm & attentiveness, & I thank you all for that! This first day wouldn't have been a success without you all! Let's make the rest of the days equally fun as today, okay? Pretty please?

Anyway, without further ado, here's some pictures to showcase how fun the event was! (Yours truly was the photographer today so I can relate offhand to just how fun it was! Had a lot of fun today!)

Here's the team that helped out today! As usual, most of us SIG members are present. (I wonder what the school would do without us. *ahem*) Anyway! Today, we had our VP, Joseph, Event Head Hong Yi, sub-comm members Kian Kiang & Ce Zhong. We even had two freshies & another schoolmate (Kasper) help out!

Presenting to you, our two very enthusiastic freshies from the Care Group C298, Chun Ming & Tyson!

There was a HUGE turnout of students. This showed how interesting the MNS Diploma was.
Our very own Mr. Chen explaining to the students on the benefits of enrolling into the MNS Diploma.

Our SIG VP hard at work explaining to the students the activities (& QR codes!) we have prepared for them & what to do. Interactive session in progress!
Ce Zhong being a very enthusiastic student ambassador!
See, people are willing to smile nicely for a nice picture if you ask them nicely. I'm awesome at doing such things. *hair flips* *confident smile*
Looks like QR codes are really interesting! Look at how engaged the students are!
Is she just happy to be here, or is Kian Kiang making her smile?
Seems as though they're really putting a lot of effort into this!
Kasper flaunting his 'charm' here!
Beautiful smiles, ladies! Will we get to see you again next year as freshies?
TP really puts a lot of effort into these events. The students even have guides to bring them around the school! (The dude with the red flag was their guide.) See, this is proof that TP is awesome.
Here's one reason for you guys to come down to TP for TPRawks! If you answer our questions correctly, we give you gifts!
The makings of a diploma plus student maybe? She got all our questions right!

See, we can have so much fun even with the limited time that we have! So, what are you waiting for?! Come down to TP for TPRawks! There's just two days left, so come while you can! You don't want to miss out on all the fun!

Okay, that's all for this update!

Ping Yi Secondary School Carnival

Hey guys!

The diploma of Mobile & Network Services participated in the Ping Yi Secondary School Carnival on 29 Oct 2011 (Sat). We displayed our iPhone Apps that were released to the industry on iPads to the students of Ping Yi Secondary School during the carnival, & attracted a crowd of interested students enquiring about the iPhone Apps development courses.

Here are some pictures taken at the event:

Even some young children find our App interesting.

From the huge response garnered, it is highly obvious that the iPhone industry is indeed a booming one.

Our future MNS freshies?

With the advances made by the industry nowadays, it honestly is hard to keep up with all the changes, or even to properly spot the proverbial diamond in the rough, in order for them to be polished. Therefore, its time, if you can't be spotted, make us spot you. Come join our course if you're interested in making mobile apps! We'll be waiting for you!

Android.. TP Library.. ANDROID TP LIBRARY APP!

Remember this post?

http://tp-mns.blogspot.com/2011/04/library-iphone-app-developed-by-mns.html

It was a groundbreaking development, was amazing.. WAS?! No, wait, it still is. But, no, wait, not everyone is an iPhone user right?! So.. What's another popular smartphone that a lot of people use... The Android!

So.. Voila! Here's TP's very own library app for the Android

Direct link to download: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.TPLibrary&feature=search_result

Also, this app was developed by our very own MNS students Li Huilun, Nur'Izzati Aqilah, Yong Yean Fu & Joel Seah Wei Xiang.

Nihongo? Hai desu~

Hey y'all! Jaiden here again! Recently, TP organised the KNCT Exchange Program, which brought in students from the Kumamoto National College to TP, in which many MNS students volunteered for!

When you hear the words 'Exchange Program', a few things come to mind. Good memories, lots of fun &... NEW FRIENDS! That's awesome right?

Here are some pictures taken at the event itself!

The Japanese students showcasing their numerous talents!

Look at the crowd! Makes us feel popular, don't we? Hehh.
Also, when we have Japanese students... Who do we get to volunteer? Our very own JCG (Japanese Cultural Group) members!

It doesn't seem like they're scared of heights at all.. Excuse me while I go puke because I'm deathly afraid of heights.. *cowers* They're so awesome!
Perhaps our three volunteers are scared too? HAHAHAHAHA.
& of course.. Doing what tourists do best.. SHOPPING! *squeals*
Good to know that the students were exposed to some of our culture as well. This is what an exchange program is about, transference & exchange of cultures! *thumbs up*

I'm sure that everyone has had fun, & that everyone gained something from this little exchange program.

That's all from me this time. Stay tuned for more updates!

P.S: Blogger has a whole new interface which I'm still not too used to. Give me a while, I'll get used to it & be able to wield it like a weapon efficiently. Stay posted. The blog will be even better than it was.
